Budget for Improvement Projects
Posted on 03/24/19
Budget available for member-organized improvement projects. Members are welcome to suggest, plan, organize, and complete an improvement or beautification project.
As discussed in 2018 Board meetings and Annual meeting, we are still in Maintenance mode and slowly replacing/repairing items that were neglected during our time under builder management. Even though we still have some catching up to do, we are in better financial shape than we were even a year ago.
The Board would like to invite members who have ideas for improvements to bring those ideas to the Board for review. While we are not ready to start paying premium costs for improvements by vendors, we do have a budget for member-organized projects.
For example, say you live by a common area that has a big electrical station. An owner might want to plan an improvement project to add bushes to grow and hide the station. You would plan the project, decide what plants might work best, get costs for buying the bushes, and bring your plan to the Board. If approved, the Board would approve a budget for the project.
Once approved, you would be free to organize any volunteers and plan the work needed. You would coordinate with the Board to use your budget to buy the plants, maybe breakfast for your volunteer crew, etc.
This is the rough idea, and might take a few projects to iron out the kinks, but you get the idea. We aren't ready for big improvements and premium costs of vendors, but the Board wants everyone to feel included and is very interested in promoting participation while, at the same time, improving our neighborhood.
Feel free to
contact any Board member if you have an idea and want to participate.
