Message Board Help
Welcome to our TCV Message Board, a free member-only feature offered by our Association.
Only Members can:
- View all Message Board content.
- Submit a New Topic.
- Submit a Reply to a Topic.
- Submit a new category request.
- Add a Reply to posts that they submitted.
- Submit an admin request to edit, move, or delete a post.
- Subscribe to email notifications for new posts.
Message Board submissions require approval before posting. If a new topic or reply is approved:
- You will receive an approval notification by email.
- The topic automatically posts to the selected Category page.
- The reply automatically posts to the selected Topic page.
- All Members can view the topic page, along with any replies.
- All Members can submit a reply for a posted topic.
- All subscribed Members receive an automated email notification.
- The web admin and assigned moderators can manage all posts:
- View
- Reply
- Edit
- Move
- Delete
Expiration and Renewal
This feature does not use an Active or Expired status (as found in other features). This means that there are no expiration or renewal notifications for posted topics and replies.
After approved and posted, a topic or reply remains posted unless manually deleted by the
web admin or a
moderator.
Once a post, and all replies, are deleted, the post removes and is no longer accessible. To
renew, complete the process below to submit a new
topic or
reply for approval.

the
web admin.
❇️ To submit a new topic for approval:
Available to Members.
- Log in to your Member account.
- Click Start a new Topic:
- On the TCV Message Board page and click to select your Category for your new topic.
- On any Category page. (
the web admin if a new category is needed.)
- In the New Comment section:
- For Topic, enter your Title.
- For Message, enter your Message content.
- Attach up to 5 files or photos, as needed.
- Click Submit.
A confirmation message populates:
New Topic Added Successfully and Waiting for Approval
New topics require approval before posting. If approved, you will receive an approval notification by email, and your topic will post.
❇️ To submit a reply for approval:
Available to Members.
- Log in to your Member account.
- On the Message Board, click the Category title to which the topic is posted.
- In the Topics column, locate and click the Topic title for your reply.
- On the Topic page:
- Click Add Reply to include only your entered reply text in your reply.
- Click Quote to include your entered reply text and the original message text in your reply.
- In the New Reply to xxxx section, enter your Reply content.
- Attach up to 5 files or photos, as needed.
- Click Submit.
A confirmation message populates:
New Reply Added Successfully and Waiting for Approval.
New replies require approval before posting. If approved, you will receive an approval notification by email, and your reply will post.
❇️ To edit a posted topic or reply:
- Log in to your Member account.
- On the TCV Message Board, click the Category title in which the topic or reply is posted.
- In the Topics column, locate and click the topic title to which your reply is posted.
- On the Topic page,
- Click Edit in the Topic table to open the Edit Topic form.
- Click Edit in the Reply row to open the Edit Reply form.
- Edit the form fields, as needed:
- Topic
- Message
- Attached files
- Click Save.
Edits to a topic or reply do not require approval and post immediately.

To edit or delete a post submitted by another Member,

the
web admin.
❇️ To manage your subscriptions to email notifications:
When you subscribe to a category, you receive automatic email notifications when new topics or replies post to the category.
- Click Subscribe on each category page for which you want to receive email notifications.
- Click My Subscriptions on the TCV Message Board page to manage all of your category subscriptions in one place.
When you change your selections
in
My Subscriptions and click
Submit, a confirmation message populates:
Subscriptions updated successfully.
The web admin is responsible for managing Message Board activity, but may assign
Moderator status, by category, to other Members.
Moderator status is assigned in the
Moderator tab of the
Message Board Admin Panel and grants the assigned Member permission to approve, edit, and delete
Message Board posts.
Message Board posts are managed in the Member view, not in the Admin Panel.
Moderator status does not include Admin Panel access. When logged in to the Member view, the web admin and assigned moderators receive
Pending notifications at the top of the
TCV Message Board page.
